5 TIPS FOR A FALL HOME REFRESH + A GREAT SALE

With the seasons changing, I always get a little itch to switch up my home decor and do a little fall home refresh. Even the simplest change like a plant swap or pulling out a few cozy blankets can be so impactful. I’m a huge lover of pillows too and the best part about them is how easy they are to store! That’s always one of my biggest struggles… I just don’t have the space to store all the fun decor that I would love to. With that said, I still find easy ways to switch up my home style so I don’t get bored and I can stay on trend with the changing of the seasons!

 The sun and light throughout our home shifts with the seasons so moving plants to match the light is the simplest refresh! One of my favorite ways to freshen up my space for the change of the season is to switch out plants and move them around! Moving them to new spots in the home is a great way to add flare to an otherwise boring space in your home! My snake plant has lived in many spaces throughout our home, from the entry way to near the TV and then in the master bedroom and each space has it’s own feel.

Cozy blankets! This is the best and easiest addition to your fall home to refresh it for the changing of the seasons! Even on a cool summer evening, I love the texture of a blanket but I try to keep them appropriate to the season. Blues and thin knits for summer and then warmer colors and cushy textures for winter. It’s an easy thing to store and easy thing to swap out! A great throw adds so much texture to a boring couch or the end of a bed!

Pillow swap! A pillow can speak a thousand words about your style and taste when it comes to home decor. I love a dark navy contrasting against my white bedding and white couch. A good Ikat print or a mud cloth pillow can bring in an earthy boho vibe that’s so great for summer. Whereas plaids and stripes can bring in the cozy home feeling of fall and winter. I love to swap pillow cases because they’re so easy to store! I just keep them folded in the linen closet and switch them out with the change of the season. If you happen to pickup a pillow cover for a size you don’t already have, IKEA has the best inexpensive pillow inserts!

Table Decor! Because our home is an open concept, dressing up my table is always an easy way to refresh the space. Our dining table sits smack in the middle of our home and is the first thing you see when you open the front door. Designing and decorating the table-scape gives the entire home a fresh feel, especially for holidays and changing of seasons. A simple swap of linens and centerpieces can make all the difference.

Lastly, bring in the season! The easiest and cheapest way to freshen your space for the change of the seasons is to bring in seasonal flowers and natures decor such as pumpkins, garland, and other fresh seasonal items. I love to grab mine at Trader Joe’s, they always have the best seasonal fresh flowers and decor. Greenery for spring, pine garland for winter and a few pumpkins for fall can really change the whole vibe of your home for the season without having to spend too much or store anything after the season ends!
