As the seasons of Motherhood has changed, so have the things I often pack in my bag. Lately, I’ve been ditching the diaper bag and just grabbing my ToteSavvy bag to toss in my favorite straw market bag. One of the perks of being a toddler mom means toting around a few less things! The ToteSavvy is easier and lighter than my diaper bag and if I want, I can just toss it into the bottom of the stroller and go.
From bottles, nursing covers, burp cloths, pacifiers, and a plethora of diapers, my diaper bag essentials have dwindled as the years have gone by. There are still a few items that I absolutely refuse to leave the house without because toddlers and preschool aged kids are complete disasters… especially when at Chick Fil A with barbeque sauce dripping down their outfits while they simultaneously have a potty accident, immediately after knocking over your beloved Dr. Pepper… not that I’ve been there or anything…
These are my top “can’t live without” items that are always in my bag…
–Wet Wipes- (seriously loving these, they smell so much better than baby wipes, which I’ve grown to associate with poop) toddler mom problems, I suppose.
-Hand Sanitizer- this is my favorite and smells so good too
-Bars- So many many many bars… because my kids are bottomless pits, literally. Plus, it’s the only fail-proof way I can distract in the middle of a public meltdown, Snacks for the WIN!
-Hair Ties- It never fails that I’ll need to tie my hair back to avoid some sort of mess, or Everly’s hair… especially after she got gum in it at the Children’s Museum… lesson learned
-Sunscreen- I actually often forget this… but I’ve vowed to be better about always keeping it stocked in my bag, especially as we head into the summer months. I love this Babo stick, it’s doesn’t make a mess in my bag or on my hands as I apply it and is perfect for wiggly toddlers who refuse to hold still for application!
–Change of clothes- If potty training two toddlers has taught me anything, its to always have a change of clothes on hand.
-Pull-Ups- And to piggy back off of the above item, I always have a spare pull up for Everly, she is still wishy-washy with her potty training so she usually wears a Pull-Up out… it never fails that the one time I don’t have a pull-up, she will poop or have multiple accidents.
